Bonkers Brash with Marvelous Masons

14 December, 2015

Back in July Gadebourne Lodge ran a guess the mileage competition in support of a Round Britain Quadrathon charity fundraising event called “Bonkers Brash” which involved cycling, canoeing, swimming and running 2,700 miles around the coastline of England, Wales and Scotland in 28 days.

Tony Denton, their Master at the time, was responsible for driving the motorhome support vehicle and making sure everyone was fed.

The mileage competition was based on the mileage completed by Tony in the motorhome and the result, 3,794 miles, was announced by the RW Provincial Grand Master at Gadebourne’s Installation Meeting in September. The winner, with a guess of 3,760, was Gadebourne’s Treasurer, W Bro Peter Elsworth.

The competition raised over £2,500 which was split between the Pepper Foundation and the Hertfordshire 2019 Festival Appeal in aid of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.
