Helping the Aged

Provincial Grand Charity Steward, Chris Noble, and Martin Francis with members of the Age UK team

Provincial Grand Charity Steward, Chris Noble, and Charity Steward of the New Elizabethan Lodge No 7419, Martin Francis, met with the Age UK Herts team ahead of the upcoming Masonic Charitable Foundation’s initiative (to be launched later this year) that will see Age UK receive funding to increase counselling services at the various local branches throughout UK, including Age UK Herts.

Rosalind Wyllie and John Ellis of Age UK Herts showed Chris and Martin around their offices; introducing and explaining the support and assistance their counsellors and telephone team give to the elderly of Hertfordshire.

Over the next few months the Province will be promoting awareness of Age UK Herts to our membership; to make you aware of some of the facts facing the elderly in Hertfordshire, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, loneliness, homelessness and other issues.

As a starter, did you know that less than 2% of all funding goes to age-related charities? A modest donation of £100 can result in many thousands of pounds worth of relief and benefits for Age UK’s clients, by claiming their rightful entitlements and positively impacting their lives. Perhaps your Lodge can consider supporting them and helping to make a difference?
