Support in Sawbridgeworth

Fair Green Lodge No 9410 have donated AV equipment to charities in the Sawbridgeworth area

Like all Lodges, Fair Green Lodge No 9410 wondered what they could do to make a difference locally. Then they heard about the urgent needs of a local day centre…

The Hailey Centre in Sawbridgeworth provides a range of support for the elderly, disabled and needy in the area. This includes films, slide shows, music singalongs, tea and scones, cards and board games. Sadly, their much-overworked projector and DVD player suffered a breakdown and they were advised both were beyond sensible financial repairs and needed replacing.

Similarly, the local Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank also suffered similar problems with their ageing computer.

Accordingly, the Charity Steward of Fair Green Lodge, Jim Outtridge picked up the gauntlet for both charities and the Lodge was able to mobilise quickly and provide the equipment needed – a new projector and DVD player for the Hailey Centre and a new computer for the Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank; both at an approximate cost of £600 a piece.
