A message from The Provincial Grand Almoner

30 January, 2021

I am taking this opportunity to write to in the hope that you are keeping safe and well during these difficult times particularly with us all being in lockdown once again.

Not only do we have coronavirus to contend with preventing us getting together in Masonic harmony, but we also have the cold and wet weather and the dark evenings which can make us feel even more isolated.

While you have Lodge Almoners that you can approach for help, in certain situations which you may find awkward to discuss with him I would advise you that I am always available  to discuss any financial, mental health or physical health issues. I give you my assurance that all conversations will remain strictly confidential.

Whatever your age or length of membership should you or your family for whatever reason require support there is no stigma in asking  for assistance, this may take the form of:

  • Grants to help to pay the day to day bills and other urgent costs
  • Grants for medical treatment due to long delays in the NHS
  • Grants to provide support for carers, mobility aids and adaptions
  • Confidential counselling
  • Grants to help young people in education or training
  • Residential care for older Freemasons and their families

Speak to either your lodge Almoner, myself or contact the MCF direct on:

0800 035 60 90

help@mcf.org.uk

Over the last year the MCF were able to help 66 Hertfordshire Freemasons and their family members with grants totalling £245,717.

Please remember that every subscribing member contributes to the MCF through their Lodge subscriptions.
