The Lodge today

Broxbourne Lodge is a long established and extremely friendly group of individuals, attracting members from varied backgrounds, professions and different age groups, currently ranging from 21 years to 75 years. As our meetings have always been held on Saturdays, there is little if any impact on our members busy work lives, so after our meetings, we always have plenty of time to dine with a 3-course meal and enhance these relaxed and fun occasions with music and song. We also like to socialise outside of our regular masonic meetings, by organising numerous casual local events for our members, partners, families and friends.

Our history

Broxbourne Lodge No 2353 was founded in 1890. It originally met at The Crown Public House in Broxbourne, right next to the River Lea. The original building has long since been lost and it’s more modern replacement was built further back from the river towpath. Having previously moved to venues in Barnet and then Southgate, the lodge now meets at the Halsey Hall Masonic Centre in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. In 1990 the lodge celebrated its Centenary and its Worshipful Master at that time, Keith, is still a member today.

In the community

At each of our local events, we raise money to assist with local as well as national charities. Some of our members have been extremely successful in their fund raising endeavours with for example, the London Marathon.
