The Lodge today
The Earl of Clarendon Lodge is small and friendly Lodge and today is made of business leaders and the like, and endeavors to make the start time of the meetings as late as possible to give the working man time to get to those meetings. The Lodge has an experienced and supportive base of senior members who support a thriving Lodge of Instruction and prides itself on its standard of ritual and its friendliness.
Our history
When the Lodge was founded in 1882, it was aimed at shopkeepers, hence we meet on a Wednesday afternoon. The Lodge was named after the then, Earl of Clarendon who then resided at the Grove on the outskirts of Watford and although not a mason, consented to having the Lodge named after him.
In the community
Today the Lodge provides donations and supports local hospices including the Watford Peace Hospice, The Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted and of course, Prince Michae of Kent Court of which some members offer physical support as well.
