The Lodge today
The last active lodge in Hertfordshire who employ Veritas working, we cross visit and support the Veritas Lodge in Bedfordshire and a lodge in London that employs the same ritual book. A specialist lodge in a specialist activity. Our meeting just before Christmas is a white table where we arrange for a short talk followed by a festive table, usually to the accompaniment of some live music open to non masons , friends and family alike, it is a popular and well supported event.
Our history
In the year of 1978, that of the Silver Jubilee of the sovereign Queen Elizabeth II, a group of ardent Freemasons who all used St Albans Railway station to commute to London for business and to attend masonic meetings, took steps to form a new Lodge in St Albans.
They took up a design of the badge or logo from the symbolic square and compasses that sit atop an interpretation of the famous St Albans Clock Tower. Sadly all our founders have now passed away but the current membership is proud to continue the traditions that we inherited from our forefathers. We like to think that we are as friendly and welcoming as our founders and are enthusiastic about our future
In the community
Jubilation Lodge has proudly been, for a number of years, the coordinator Lodge for the British Legion Remembrance Day parade wreath laying event on behalf of the Lodges in the St Albans area
In the last 12 months Jubilation lodge has made donations to the Keech Cottage Hospice Care and the Province support of the Great Ormand Street hospital appeal as well as support of a local Arts Theatre workshop supporting special needs pupils and a fund to support retired Police dogs following a presentation made to the Lodge.
This follows a pattern, long established, of supporting charities local to our geographic area.
