The Lodge today

Letchworth Garden City – what makes us different.
• We meet on a Saturday at a unique Masonic Centre
• We have a good blend of young and old.
• Members from all walks of life
• We have special workings such as the White Gloves and Walking Charge
• We are well known for our presentation of Lectures which actively involve Brethren early in their Masonic Journey
• We uphold traditional skills and ethos such as squaring the lodge.
• We regularly hold Preceptors evenings at our Lodge of Instruction
We have an active LOI which-
• Encourages our light blues to go through all the offices.
• Provides a solid platform for progression

Our history

There are five regular meetings annually, of Letchworth Garden City Lodge since its Consecration in 1929. Installation is held in September. In November the Lodge has become well known for the presentation of Lectures, which other than for a few exceptions, involved a Brother, early in his Masonic years, answering questions put by a Past Master to the assembled Brethren. As a result, Brethren have often expressed their delight at hearing the Lectures and those carrying out the work were rightly congratulated on their efforts.
Following each meeting Brethren enjoy the social gathering of the Festive Board.
Charity continues to be a very important part of Masonry. We as a Lodge have continued to support all the usual Masonic Charities as well as those of a more local nature. We currently are able to maintain the tradition of sending small gifts to the Widows of past members at Christmas

In the community

Letchworth Garden City support Several Local and National Charities such as The Garden House Hospice

Testimonials

“I’ve been a Mason for over 25 years, and I’ve never witnessed the 3rd Degree Walking Charge. It was carried out with aplomb by James and quite the spectacle” – Visiting Brethren
