The Lodge was consecrated at Ashwell House, St. Albans by RW Bro Col. Alexander Woods, the Provincial Grand Master.

Elstree and Radlett Lodges had such a large membership that some of the members decided to become Founders of Aldenham Lodge so they could progress through the various Lodge offices quicker than waiting for years in their respective Lodges.

Aldenham Lodge is the daughter Lodge of Radlett, the granddaughter Lodge of Elstree and Kudu is the daughter Lodge of Aldenham.

The Crest depicts the Church of St. John the Baptist, Aldenham  which goes back to the 13th century which the Reverend Canon Frederick Hart allowed to be on the Crest which most of the Founders used to attend on Sundays. Three battleaxes are said to have been taken from the Coat of Arms of Lord Aldenham; they are also shown on the Crest of Aldenham School.
