The Lodge takes its name from RW Bro Colonel Alexander Woods, MBE, TD, DL, Provincial Grand Master of Hertfordshire from 1963 to 1974.

One of the last acts of Colonel Woods, prior to relinquishing the office of Provincial Grand Master, was to give permission to the Lodge to adopt his name and use his Crest as the Lodge Badge. At the Consecration of the Lodge, gifts were received from many quarters including the following, which had belonged to the late Colonel Alexander Woods and given by his Family:-

  • I P M Collar
  • Past Masters’ Apron
