The Lodge was formed by several Brethren who were prominent Masons and staunch friends. The name is taken from the nearby town of Waltham Cross adjacent to Halsey Masonic Hall where it was decided to hold the meetings. It was the 60th Lodge to be consecrated in the Province of Hertfordshire and the first to be held at the Hall. The Crest incorporates Eleanor Cross, which still stands in the town centre of Waltham Cross. It also has seven poplar trees with two pillars on either side which have a Masonic significance. Also included is the name, number and Province of Hertfordshire. The Banner is similar to the Crest but surmounted by the All Seeing Eye which is also of Masonic significance.
