High Stone Lodge was sponsored by Wanstead Lodge No. 3524, nine of whose Members were amongst the twenty one Founders. The consecration took place at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street.
The name High Stone is derived from what is reputed to be a Roman Milestone and still stands on the corner of Hollybush Hill and New Wanstead in East London. It is the main feature of the Lodge Crest. The Lodge moved into the Province of Hertfordshire on 1st March 1985.
