St Albans Masonic Luncheon Club

26 September, 2016

The St Albans Masonic Luncheon Club is exactly that; a lunch club for ladies and gentlemen with a Masonic connection, whether past or present. It has been going for over a decade now and, for the last three years, has been run by the Provincial Grand Chaplain, Tony Wright and his wife Susan. Many of the Club’s members are widows of former Brethren but all family, friends and neighbours are most welcome!

The Club hosts an event at Ashwell House in St Albans most months (with the exception of January, February, July and August), which usually consists of tea and coffee, followed by a presentation by a guest speaker in the main temple. After the presentation, there are drinks in the bar before a three-course meal is served in the main dining room. The presentations can cover a whole host of different topics, both Masonic and non-Masonic, so there is always something interesting to listen to.

Please see the below message from Tony and Susan Wright:

“It is with sincere regret that we have taken the decision to suspend Lunch Club until such times it is deemed safe to return. Coronavirus is leading into a critical stage within the UK with daily bulletins of increasing numbers being infected and loss of life; particularly of those aged 65 and over. We all fall in that age category so it is our duty to make sure all our members are kept safe and free from infection.

Each one of you are valued members of our club and I, for one, look forward to your company each month. Should any of you have to self-isolate, are unable to get out to shop, lack essential needs or require any help or assistance at any time, please do phone me or email me and I will endeavour to help and shop for you.

In the meantime please keep safe and warm we will get through this situation and look forward to seeing each other when time prevails – hopefully not to long.”
