24 October, 2013

In the last 12 months the central masonic charities have supported 89 Hertfordshire brethren or close family members to the tune of £358,217, according to figures just released.

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity – the charity the province supported for its last festival – has paid out £45,700 to 16 petitioners.

The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys – the charity the province will support for its 2019 Festival – has supported 35 young petitioners with funds totalling £91,262.

The Masonic Samaritan Fund has relieved distress with payments to 15 petitioners totalling £68,511 and the RMBI has supported 23 current beneficiaries to the tune of £152,744.

The newly-released figures also show that over the last 12 months the charities have distributed £17,895,073 to 48 provinces in England and Wales, as well as the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

The level of support for Hertfordshire masons is similar to that for the provinces of Berkshire, Cornwall, Durham and West Kent.
