At the regular meeting of the Lodge of Light and Honour No 7894 on Monday, 10 February, the 55 Brethren in attendance listened with great interest to a talk entitled ‘How to support those living with Dementia’; presented by Anne Child MBE and Debbie Hollands of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Care Company.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session and, judging by the amount of questions asked, it was obvious that this was a subject that many of the attendees could relate to in some way or other. Information packs were distributed to all those in attendance.
This talk was a ‘first’ for the Lodge but, based on the feedback received from the members and visitors, is something that they fully intend to repeat on further occasions.
As a thanks for their time and a gesture of goodwill, the Lodge sent donations to the RMBI Care Company and also to Prince Michael of Kent Court, Watford; one of the many residential care homes that support Freemasons and their families suffering from this debilitating disease.
