Calling all motor enthusiasts – East Barnet Lodge No. 6259

Would you drive over 2000 miles in 48 hours in a 61 year old MGA?

Well that’s precisely what Charlotte Vowden, the next guest speaker at East Barnet Lodge No. 6259 set out to achieve in June 2022.

Charlotte, a writer, driver, journalist and adventurer, along with her father, decided to challenge both themselves and her grandfather’s MGA to visit the four furthest points of the compass in the UK. This was in support of the volunteers of SERV Herts and Bucks Bloodbikers, a volunteer charity who provide free life saving deliveries of blood and breast milk to the NHS in the Herts and Beds area. Having set-out to raise the modest sum of £2000 – £1 for every mile that they would travel, they have so far raised over £5000 for the charity.

Please come along to hear Charlotte recounting her fund-raising adventures after the short meeting at Masonic Hall Radlett on February 23rd 2023. It’s a White Table event, so please encourage your friends and partners to join you.

The short meeting will start at 17.30 hrs, followed by a meal at 19.15. Charlotte will speaking after the meal, finishing about 21.30. We look forward to seeing you.

Dining will consist of Buttered Chicken and veg, sticky toffee pudding or fruit salad.
